KARPA 14 anos! KARPA's 14th birthday!

Once upon a time, not so long ago (to be precise, 14 years!), a dream begun to take form.

I gave birth to this one that would bem y first son.

After months of mourning (for my father passed away that year of 2006), a new hope would open up for me.

Many changes and adventures later, we are still together. As one.

Me and him. He and I. This art Studio, this dream, this very son...

Whoever takes this journey knows it: it takes a lot of hard work; as much as raising a kid. And we love it as much, too.

After making art of all sorts, like Wood painting, recycled paper, handmade lampshades, crochet, drawing, painting watercolor and more, I decided to resume the Idea of making books.

I had already made books – selftaught – in 1989 (this kind of statement reveals the age of a person), but in 2005 I took a course. Bookbinding was already a passion, like all the other arts and crafts.

2012 came and I started to give classes in colleges and workshops at the community centers of three cities.

2015 came, and Otto landed on my planet. I was now a mother. From then on, by leaps and bounds, I managed to be a momo f a newborn, a teacher and an arts Studio owner.

2020. Covid hit like a hurricane, and took my Studio from one city to another, in my mother’s house, home Office mode.

What Will tomorrow bring? Nobody knows, and that is the beauty of it.

Happy aniversary, my beloved Studio-son!

I wish you the best! I wish you many years of life, hope you fulfill your most impossible dreams, and tha you change people’s lifes, by bringing more beauty to it.
